Trump's Immigration Agents Detain US Citizens
A ProPublica investigation found that federal agents have held scores of U.S. citizens, some for more than 24 hours.
The investigation, which originally appeared on ProPublica, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative newsroom, highlights the reality of US citizens being detained by immigration agents.
“If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States,” Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote, “they promptly let the individual go.”
However, this is not the experience of many citizens, who have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased, and shot by immigration agents, with some even having their necks kneeled on.
