2025 Great Alaska ShakeOut Reminds the State to Drop, Cover and Hold On

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - This annual event encourages citizens across the state to practice protecting themselves from an earthquake. Alaska experiences 50-100 earthquakes every day, making it crucial to practice earthquake safety.
Denali Montessori Elementary School participated in the Great Alaska ShakeOut, where children quickly found safe places, covered their heads and necks, and sheltered under their desks as they should in a real earthquake.
