Rare Calico Lobster Makes Debut
A 1-in-30-million calico lobster, named Jackie, has made her debut at Northeastern University's Marine Science Center in Nahant, Massachusetts.
Jackie's unique colors are due to a mixture of chemical compounds. She is joining other nature's Halloween ambassadors like spiders, bats, and oozing fungi.

According to Sierra Munoz, the Marine Science Center outreach coordinator, this makes Jackie even more rare than Neptune the blue lobster, with odds of one-in-two million.
- Jackie was caught off the coast of Massachusetts by lobsterman Mike Tufts.
