The punk rockers and rapper break all the rules on their new albums.
The Canadian punk rockers PUP, whose name stands for Pathetic Use of Potential, have released their fifth studio album, Who Will Look After the Dogs? The album is about relationships, particularly the bad ones that can curdle and foster dislike.
PUP has always been forthright about the themes of their albums, from their breakout second album The Dream Is Over to their punk-rock classic Morbid Stuff. The new album is no exception, with the first verse setting the tone:
“Staring into the void now / You’re going down with the ship / You’re taking me with you / I don’t need to resist, it’s just what it is.”
Rico Nasty, a rapper, is also mentioned as a rule-breaker in the music scene.
