INEOS is marking 50 years of the Forties Pipeline System (FPS), a significant piece of British engineering that has powered the nation's economy for half a century.
The Forties Pipeline was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 3 November 1975, transforming the UK's energy landscape and making Britain self-sufficient in oil.
Since its opening, the FPS has safely transported over 9 billion barrels of oil, fuelling homes, transport, and industry for generations.
