Troy Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

A 19-year-old Troy man, Kemaury Everett, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in Albany County Court.

Everett admitted to hitting and killing 93-year-old Charles Allendorph with his car at the intersection of Congress and Newark streets in Cohoes. According to police, Everett then backed over Allendorph's body, despite witnesses telling him to stop.

After leaving the scene, Everett abandoned his vehicle in the area of Dove and Elm streets. He was later found at his home and arrested. The plea satisfies additional charges of second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and a pending drug charge in another case.

Everett faces 5 to 15 years in prison when sentenced on January.

No comment from the defendant or his representatives was available.
