Canal+, the new parent company of MultiChoice, has announced plans to merge Showmax, DStv Stream, and its own Canal+ online service into a single all-in-one streaming app.
The goal is to create a “super app” that combines African and international entertainment on one unified platform, simplifying how millions of subscribers access content.
“We want to make it as convenient and pleasant as possible for our subscribers to access all this great content — both global and local,”
said Maxime Saada, CEO of Canal+. This merger is part of a strategy to strengthen the company’s global position and better compete with streaming giants like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video.
