Reopening of Kildare Ukrainian Accommodation Criticized

A local councillor has expressed strong disapproval over the reopening of the International Persons Accommodation Service (IPAS) Centre for Ukrainian refugees at Flood's Cross, Newhall, just outside Naas.

"Nobody in charge seems to know what they're doing. Could ye not get your act together? And you can quote me on that,"

said Cllr Bill Clear, voicing his frustration. The centre, originally built to house up to 1,000 refugees, was closed and dismantled seven months ago in March, only to be reopened for another 350 arrivals for a 90-day tenure.

Author's summary: Cllr Clear criticizes the reopening of the IPAS Centre as a waste of money.
