The Army plans to install small commercial nuclear reactors on 9 US bases by 2028 as part of Project Janus.

According to Jeff Waksman, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment, nuclear power is part of the military's effort to explore more sustainable energy sources for large-scale conflicts.
Army Secretary Dan Driscoll announced the plan at the annual conference of the Association of the U.S. Army, highlighting the importance of energy resilience for soldiers.
