Judge Delivers Ruling Three Years Late
A Gauteng High Court judge, Letty Molopa-Sethosa, has finally delivered a judgment that had been outstanding since August 2022.
The case, heard in Pretoria on 15 August 2022, was between two businessmen, with judgment reserved the same day.
- In February 2023, the plaintiff's attorneys sent a letter to Molopa-Sethosa asking when judgment would be delivered.
- After not receiving a response, they sent another letter in October 2024 to Gauteng Judge President Dunstan Mlambo.
Despite these efforts, a ruling was not delivered until three years after the case was heard.
No record of the late judgment appeared in the official report that tracks late judgments for most of that time.
