Residential Infill Project Moves Forward in Union Hill
A local development group has purchased the former Great Hope Baptist Church building and adjacent parking lots for $2.15 million, with plans to convert the property into apartments and townhomes.
The church building, located at 2101 Venable St., was listed for sale earlier this month for $1.25 million, just weeks after the purchase.
- The development group, tied to UrbanCore Construction, Keel Custom Homes, and local developer Matt Jarreau, plans to build 19 townhomes on two parking lot sites in Union Hill.
- The project will proceed next door to the church building, which is now back on the market.
No comment was made by the developers regarding the decision to list the church building for sale.
The purchase included a half-acre parking lot at 2111-2119 Venable St. and a smaller parking lot at 810-812 N. 22nd St.
