Parade Season Returns to Palm Springs with Renewed Focus on Safety

This renewed focus on safety comes after a tragic incident last year, where Palm Springs Police officer Kenney Merenda lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a crowd of people during the annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade.

The Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) is implementing significant safety reforms to prevent similar incidents, including clear policies for staff when working events with vehicles involved.
