General Atomics Flies Second YFQ-42A Prototype Fighter
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is now flying two examples of its YFQ-42A prototype fighter.
The second aircraft is conducting flight testing under the US Air Force's Collaborative Combat Aircraft programme.
- Photos released on 3 November show two fully capable YFQ-42As on the flight line.
- A tail number of 004 is visible on one of the jets in flight.
- The inaugural sortie in August was made by YFQ-42A tail number 002.
General Atomics confirmed it is flying two examples of the prototype fighter in response to an inquiry from FlightGlobal on 4 November.
