Surrey County Council Develops Innovative EHCP Apprenticeship
Surrey County Council has created the UK's first nationally recognized apprenticeship for staff working with the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process.
This initiative responds to the growing demand for specialist support for children and young people in Surrey and nationally.
The apprenticeship aims to professionalise and strengthen the role of EHCP coordinators across England.
- Launched on 1 November with a pilot cohort of 30 Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) professionals.
- Designed to meet the needs of all councils in England.
