A powerful coastal storm is expected to bring major flooding and wind gusts up to 60 mph to the Philadelphia region, prompting New Jersey to declare a state of emergency.
According to forecasters, the storm may last through Monday, with heavy rains and gusts of up to 40 mph expected in Philly.
“It’s going to be bad,” said Paul Fitzsimmons, a lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service Office in Mount Holly. “It’s going to be a nasty, stormy ‘nor’easter’ ... lasting right into Monday.”
