Many ways to support Southern Interior land conservation - The Similkameen Spotlight

Supporting Southern Interior Land Conservation

The Southern Interior Land Trust (SILT) works to conserve land for wildlife in the southern interior of B.C.

Land trusts, like SILT, constantly fundraise to purchase properties with unique features crucial for wildlife, but acquiring property is only the first step.

Once acquired, properties require management and restoration to maintain ecological values, including fencing, signage, and replanting native species, all of which come at a cost.

California bighorn sheep, like this ram, are among the many beneficiaries of some of SILT’s conservation lands, enjoying the protected habitat with their families.

SILT was formed in 1988 to purchase land for wildlife in the southern interior of B.C.
