The historic family home of Captain Francis Crozier, a renowned Northern Ireland-born polar explorer, is now for sale.
Captain Crozier was born in Banbridge, Co Down, in 1796. He was one of 13 children and initially volunteered with the Royal Navy, later serving in it.
A monument was erected in Banbridge in 1862, 14 years after his disappearance on an expedition to find the North-West Passage. The monument is visible from the windows of the family home, which also features a blue plaque commemorating the famous explorer.
The monument is one of eight points across the world acknowledging Francis Crozier's contribution towards exploration and science.
