Alleged Assassin of Charlie Kirk Makes Unusual Request

Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, has made a request through his lawyers ahead of a court hearing.

Robinson's lawyers argued that if the request is not met, it could make it more difficult to have a fair trial. Robinson was arrested and charged with seven offenses, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice, after Kirk was shot and killed at a Utah Valley University event on September 10.

A massive manhunt led to Robinson's arrest less than two days later. If convicted, he could face capital punishment, with Utah being one of five states that still use a firing squad as a method of execution.

No potential motive for the killing has been given by officials.

Author's summary: Alleged assassin makes unusual request.
