BJP Minority Morcha Opposes School's Decision to Declare Friday as Weekly Off

An English medium school in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has announced a change in its weekly off days, declaring Friday as the weekly holiday and keeping Sunday as a working day.

The decision, which will be implemented from the new academic session of 2025, has been met with opposition from the BJP Minority Morcha, who have termed it as an "unconstitutional order".

“NOTICE: This is to inform you that in the new session 2025, school holidays will be declared on Friday and school will remain open on Sunday from 8:45 to 12:45 pm – as per the order, Principal.”

The Morcha’s General Secretary, Muzammil Ali, stated that in the school’s 117-year history, classes have never been held on Sundays, making this decision a controversial one in the city.

The school, Anjuman Islamia English Medium School, operated by Islamists, informed parents about the change through a mobile message.
