Statesboro Breaks Ground on Fire Station 3

The city of Statesboro has begun construction on Fire Station 3, which is expected to open in 2026.

Since the last fire station opened in 2001, the population has grown by 55%, with a significant increase in enrollment at Georgia Southern University and the opening of new businesses and shopping centers.

Nearly two decades of conversations, planning, and persistence have led us to this point. Today marks a significant step forward in the proud history of the Statesboro Fire Department.

The new fire station will be built on land that was previously a peanut field, located across from the Social Security office and behind Lowe’s.
