A care home company has been fined over £1.8 million after a resident, Elizabeth Campbell, 96, choked on food while eating alone in her room.
Elizabeth, also known as Peggy, was a resident of Cradlehall Care Home in Inverness, on a specialist diet of soft, moist, and bite-sized food, requiring close supervision while eating and drinking.
The care plan stated that she should be closely supervised when eating and drinking.
