Assam Launches Cashless Medical Facility
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a cashless treatment facility under the Ayushman Asom Mukhya Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana (AA-MMLSAY) on Wednesday.
The initiative will benefit state government employees, pensioners, and their dependents, allowing them to access medical care without upfront expenses.
- Beneficiaries can avail cashless medical services in select empanelled hospitals within Assam.
- They can also access leading corporate hospitals across the country.
MMLSAY was launched on October 2, 2023, to end the cumbersome and time-consuming reimbursement process for medical expenses.
The Chief Minister distributed health cards under the scheme and unveiled its digital newsletter, which will serve as a gateway for cashless treatment and reimbursement benefits.
