A resident of Albany Park noted, "It's always quiet here, but out of nowhere, they decided to come, to hit our community."

At Roosevelt High School in Albany Park, where 74% of the student body is Latino, a young woman stood watch. She was a member of the Northwest Side Rapid Response team, equipped with a whistle and a tab featuring the phone number of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights.

I'm never gonna understand the fear that it is to be brown under this administration, so I'm gonna stand on the corner and do what I can.

She volunteers on the corner three or four days a week, demonstrating the community's involvement in responding to ICE presence.
