Taiwan Redesigns Banknotes for First Time in 24 Years
Taiwan is introducing new designs for all NT dollar banknotes, marking the first major update in 24 years.
The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) aims to enhance anti-counterfeiting features, improve accessibility, and meet sustainability standards with the redesign.
- All five denominations (NT$100, NT$200, NT$500, NT$1,000, and NT$2,000) will be updated.
- Coins will remain unchanged.

The new series will feature advanced security elements, including colour-shifting inks, motion effects, and larger numerals for better visibility, as well as enhanced tactile markings to aid visually impaired users.
