Targeting Impaired Driving in Quinte
A joint policing initiative across Quinte is yielding results, with four motorists arrested for impaired driving, according to police.
The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Belleville Police Service, Central Hastings OPP, Prince Edward County OPP, and members of the OPP Highway Safety Division have been conducting focused patrols to combat impaired driving.
- A 42-year-old woman from Belleville was arrested
- A 58-year-old man from Quinte West was arrested
- A 35-year-old male from Springbrook was arrested
- A 38-year-old male from Stone Mills Township was arrested
In addition to the arrests, five three-day suspensions were issued to individuals who registered a warning on the approved roadside alcohol screening device, along with various Highway Traffic Act and cannabis-related offenses.
