Tennis Takes First Loss in Sweet 16

Davie tennis players Corbin Drum and Kate Chaffin reached the 7A Midwest Regional semifinals, one step from advancing to the state tournament.
Both players lost in the semis but showed grit in defeat. The tournament was held at Guilford College.
“Corbin played the one seed really, really hard (6-3, 6-4),” coach Collin Ferebee said. “It was a competitive match all the way through.”
Chaffin went 2-1 on the day, with coach Ferebee noting,
“Kate rolled (in the first round),”
