A record wave of new liquefied natural gas production capacity is expected to come online by 2030, transforming gas market dynamics, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The IEA's "Gas 2025" medium-term outlook report states that 300 billion cubic meters per year of LNG export capacity will be added by 2030, primarily in the United States and Qatar.
"Barring unexpected disruptions, this is forecast to result in lower prices in the years ahead and spur higher demand,"
This increase in supply is expected to result in a potential net LNG supply increase of 250 billion cubic meters per year by 2030, strengthening global supply security and easing market pressure.
