Quinte Conservation's Adopt an Acre program has returned with a project that supports local pollinators through hands-on learning for students.
Funds from the program will help expand the pollinator meadow, an outdoor classroom for students at the South Potter's Creek Conservation Area.
The pollinator meadow has grown into an incredible teaching tool, allowing visitors to see up close what native plantings look like while admiring the beautiful butterflies, bees, and other pollinator species.
According to Lindsay Nash, the conservation's outreach and stewardship coordinator, the meadow provides local schools and community groups with the opportunity to plant native wildflowers and observe pollinator species in action.
