Swift Solar, a US solar technology company, has deployed perovskite solar technology as part of a Department of Defence cyber warfare exercise in Virginia.
The company's US-made perovskite tandem solar modules were used in the Cyber Fortress exercise in Virginia Beach, VA, a programme that models a cyberattack on the US grid.
The modules were deployed in tandem with the Rapid Deployment Hybrid MicroGrid (RDHM) system produced by Resilient Energy & Infrastructure, a US microgrid firm.
Swift Solar claimed the exercise showed the potential of high-efficiency perovskite solar products to “support energy resilience for national defence operations”.
The exercise was part of the Department of Defence's efforts to test its resilience against cyberattacks.
