Next Death: Hiker Treated in a Meadow

A recent incident in Upper Austria has raised concerns about the availability of medical care in the region. A 63-year-old hiker from Bavaria fell on the Traunstein and suffered severe head injuries.

Mountaineers Gerhard Ohler and Rudolf Habl made the discovery when they descended from the Traunstein on Wednesday, following a trail of blood, a drinking bottle, and an abandoned rucksack. The woman was found lying on a rock 50 to 70 meters below the trail, barely breathing.

Unfortunately, the Salzkammergut Clinic in Gmunden had no room for the seriously injured hiker, and she succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.

No comment from the authorities is available at this time.

This incident comes after a previous case was uncovered by the "Krone", where a woman from Rohrbach died after being turned away by several hospitals.

Author's summary: Hiker dies after being turned away from hospital.
