Laugh Factory Chicago is crowdsourcing to assist night manager Nathan Griffin with legal funds after his arrest on Friday morning.
Griffin, a US-born citizen, was tackled to the ground and taken into custody by masked federal agents for attempting to intervene with an immigration operation outside the comedy club.
“Why are you doing this? Where are you taking him?”
A video of the arrest shows at least four agents in camouflage pushing Griffin to the ground and handcuffing him, briefly pinning his mother Elaine Plybon down in the process.
The comedy club is seeking to raise legal funds to support Griffin.
