Update: Power Mostly Restored in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley

A car crash on Saturday morning caused heavy damage to transformers, leading to a power outage that affected thousands of residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley.

According to Puget Sound Energy, more than 5,400 customers in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington lost power earlier in the day, with over 1,000 customers in Sedro-Woolley still without power as of 1 p.m.

A motor vehicle crash around 7 a.m. at Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road likely led to the large power outage, according to Sedro-Woolley police.

Power is estimated to be restored to the remaining customers around 2:30 p.m., according to PSE.
