ECG Improves Supply Reliability in Ashanti
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has undertaken a comprehensive maintenance exercise to correct defects on key transmission lines in the Ashanti region.
The exercise, carried out by the Ashanti Sub-Transmission team, aims to restore the power system to its original integrity and ensure optimum performance of transmission assets.
- Tightening loose fittings
- Replacing damaged insulators
- Clearing vegetation along the right-of-way
- Rectifying conductor sags identified during line patrols
Managing Director of ECG, Ing. Kwame Kpekpena, tasked the team to intensify maintenance and reliability-focused interventions that will guarantee uninterrupted and quality power delivery to customers.
The goal is to minimize unplanned outages and enhance the overall stability of supply in the region by addressing abnormalities and technical weaknesses along the lines.
