Ticketmaster Unveils Plan to Crack Down on Scalpers Amid Mounting Criticism

Ticketmaster's Anti-Scalping Plan

Ticketmaster has announced new measures to combat ticket scalping, including account bans and the shutdown of TradeDesk, amidst a lawsuit from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The company aims to get more tickets into the hands of real fans by requiring tax ID verification for resellers and banning multiple accounts.

The FTC sued Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation, accusing them of allowing scalpers to buy large amounts of tickets and resell them at high prices.

Live Nation's Executive Vice President Daniel Wall responded to the lawsuit, stating it "presents a distorted view of the facts and the law."
