Gauff earned her second title of 2025 and her maiden title at the Wuhan Open, overcoming a 0-3 double break deficit and 3-5 down in the second set.
The head-to-head between Gauff and Pegula, ranked third and sixth respectively, is now 4-3 in Pegula’s favour.
