South Effingham fought back after dropping the first set to defeat eighth-ranked Milton 3-1 in the Class 5A state volleyball playoffs.
The Mustangs advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time in three years behind strong performances from Morgan Stringer and Clara Vorel.
“She’s hot — feed her, feed her.”
South Effingham outside hitter Morgan Stringer finished with 17 kills as South rallied from a set down to defeat the visiting Eagles 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-18).
“Everyone was putting in so much effort. It was easy to feed off of,”
said Stringer.
