Concern over EU's Threat to Irish Farming
The Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association (INHFA) has expressed concern over the EU's decisions, which pose a significant threat to the future of Irish farming and rural communities.
Since Ireland joined the European Economic Community (EEC) in January 1973, there is no doubt the country has progressed and there is little doubt that the EEC, or now the European Union (EU), has played a major part in this development.
INHFA President Phelim Molloy notes that while progress has been extraordinary, there is a growing concern that the limits of this progress may have been reached, and more difficult times may be ahead.
The INHFA is warning that the EU's decisions could have severe consequences for Irish farming and rural communities.
