Jared Moskowitz has filed legislation to ensure continuous funding for disaster payments during the federal shutdown.
“During a government shutdown, communities hit by disaster shouldn’t have to worry that the resources they’re counting on to recover will go undelivered,”
Moskowitz said. The Federal Emergency Management Continuity Act, filed with U.S. Representative Troy Carter, requires FEMA to continue disbursing Disaster Relief Funding despite a lack of budget resolution.
The goal is to provide confidence to families and businesses that promised funds will still be delivered, regardless of congressional actions.
