Owen Sound Rental Apartments at BCK Site to be Called Harbour West
A ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of six four-storey rental apartments at Owen Sound's old BCK site.
Studies suggested rental apartments would succeed on the huge site, while other ideas wouldn't. Ten per cent of the 224 rental apartments about to be built on the old Black Clawson Kennedy site will be affordable.
The site, now to be called Harbour West, is an eight-acre block at 1144 1st Avenue West, steps from the harbour and downtown Owen Sound.
- A website for the development, harbourwestos.ca, will provide updates soon.
- Leasing information will be shared in late winter or early spring.
- Occupancy of the first building will be about one year from now.
- There’ll be units with one, two and three bedrooms.
