Petit Le Mans Update
As darkness falls on Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R has taken the lead in the race with two hours left.
Out of 53 starters, 46 cars have made it to sunset, with the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 closing in on the GTP Championship.
- A full course yellow was brought out due to contact between the No. 47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 and the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW.
- The incident damaged the left rear of the BMW, prompting a caution period.
- The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac took the lead after pit stops under the caution period.
Frederik Vesti peeled off a string of outright fastest laps of the race, eventually breaking away from the Vanthoor brothers, Dries and Laurens, in the No. 6 Porsche.
