Drama at Wollongong's World Triathlon Championship Finals
The opening day of the 2025 World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong was marked by drama both on and off the course.
An athlete required medical attention after a bike accident involving a 'keep left' sign early Thursday morning.
Later, paramedics had to resuscitate a competitor, a man in his 70s, who experienced distress during the swim leg of the triathlon.
A NSW Ambulance Media spokesperson confirmed that paramedics performed CPR on the competitor before transporting him to Wollongong Hospital in critical condition.
