Marine Communications Experts Compete in Inaugural Thunderstruck Contest
Marine communication experts participated in the first-ever Thunderstruck competition, a contest of field radio and combat skills.
A team of four Marines from the headquarters regiment of 1st Marine Logistics Group emerged as winners among 15 squads, after being tested on their abilities in a six-mile track at Camp Pendleton.
The Thunderstruck Communications Team Competition
was hosted by 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, with Marine Wing Communication Squadron 38 running the event, led by its commander, Lt.
The competition aimed to test teams of Marines operating radios, networks, and complex communications gear in the field.
