Clare motorist to plead guilty over death of 'inspirational' Limerick teacher in road crash

Clare Motorist to Plead Guilty Over Death of Limerick Teacher

A 32-year-old woman from West Clare will plead guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of Michael Lorigan, a 70-year-old cyclist and Limerick school teacher.

The fatal incident occurred on August 16, 2023, at around 12:30pm on the N67 at Baunmore, Kilkee.

My understanding is that there is a guilty plea to the charge and it has the same effect as going forward to the circuit court on a signed plea.

said Judge Alec Gabbett at Ennis District Court, where the Book of Evidence was served in the case of Saoirse Lillis McMahon.

Author's summary: A Clare woman will plead guilty to causing the death of a Limerick teacher.
