Farewell for SA Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa in KwaMbonambi
South Africa will bid farewell to its Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, with an official state funeral category 2.
Preparations have been finalized for the funeral, which will take place at the Siyabonga Sangweni Sports Complex in Dondotha.
The late ambassador died in Paris last week and his body was repatriated on Friday.
- His body was transported to a mortuary in Empangeni.
- It was then taken to the Mthethwa homestead.
A night vigil was held throughout the night, as relatives, friends and community members gathered to pay their last respects.
A cleansing ceremony was also held outside the homestead before the remains were allowed to enter.
