In the wake of the horrific attack on September 11, 2001, a joke circulated in the Black community.
A joke from that time stated that Black people were America's second most hated racial group, as Arabs were perceived as the most hated group at that point.
The joke is that for a period of time–post September 11, 2001–Black people were America’s second most hated racial group.
This joke was reflected in Aaron MacGruder’s newspaper comic strip The Boondocks, which is missed by the author.
