Paterson calls for Coalition to unite

Liberal Party Urged to Unite

Liberal frontbencher James Paterson has called on the Coalition to put aside its ideological differences and unite.

the Liberal Party must resist the “false choices” facing it and end “the ongoing mass public therapy session”

Paterson warned against embracing a more progressive agenda, which he believes would create

a soulless, hollow party which spoke to only the narrowest material aspirations of Australians
, or adopting a
“Farage-lite” conservatism
that would lead to
a new nationalism of picking winners and turning our backs on free trade
.

Paterson urged the party to

“call time on the apology tour”
and move forward to repair reputational damage.

Author's summary: Liberal Party must unite to repair damage.
