Greater Victoria Sites Prime for Salmon Viewing
Salmon spotting season is underway on Vancouver Island, with the peak expected later this month.
Pacific salmon are returning to rivers and streams after traveling thousands of kilometers. They have already been spotted in Goldstream Provincial Park and in the Puntledge and Quinsam rivers, according to the Pacific Salmon Foundation.
We hope people take the opportunity to get outdoors and visit local streams to witness this incredible migration.
Michael Meneer, foundation president and CEO, stated that this is a great year to spot salmon due to favorable ocean conditions and conservation efforts by First Nations, streamkeepers, and grassroots groups.
