The Colorado Springs City Council approved a resolution honoring the U.S. Senate’s designation of October 14, 2025, as the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA.
Councilor Brandy Williams introduced the resolution, comparing the assassination of Kirk to that of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. before presenting a highlight reel of Kirk’s speeches.
The resolution passed with the support of Councilors Williams, Lynette Crow-Iverson, David Leinweber, Brian Risley, and Tom Bailey.
