Fifth Adopted Child Sues Sissonville Couple
A civil complaint has been filed against a Sissonville couple convicted in a historic child abuse, forced labor, and human trafficking case.
The guardian of an adopted child has filed suit against Donald Lantz, 61, and Jeanna Whitefeather, 63, alleging
“severe and outrageous” mistreatment that “went beyond all bounds of decency to be tolerated in a civilized community”.
Charleston attorney Joseph Spano filed the lawsuit in Kanawha County Circuit Court after being appointed as a guardian to protect the youth’s interests.
This filing marks the fifth adopted child to sue the couple, claiming
“shocking and severe physical and emotional abuse and neglect”.
