City officials reported a successful week of waste disposal for this year's Clean Sweep at the Sanitary Landfill, with approximately 148 tons of waste collected.
The event, which took place from Oct. 7, included the collection of 64 appliances and 292 tires, according to St. Joseph Public Works and Transportation.

said St. Joseph Deputy Director of Operations Keven Schneider. The event was a rebound for the facility after overcoming capacity concerns.
